Has anyone ever been to bereavement counseling?

There is nothing wrong with grieving for a lost family member that you were close to, unless it begins to affect your daily life and your health. If you felt like the counseling with the Youth worker....then by all means try and find a bereavement counselor and talk to them. When I lost my dad due to suicide in Dec. 2000, I took a picture of him in the open coffin and put it in a "Dad" frame and there are times when I "talk" to it; asking his advice or telling him about something that has come up in my life that I think he might have been interested in. Sometimes I get angry with him and I yell at him and sometimes I ahve even thrown the picture across the room. It makes me feel like I can handle the "coward" way that he left us. I have forgiven him over the years, and I don't talk to the picture much anymore, but it sure helped back then.
