No, that is REALLY mean and rude. Also, just because you don't normally get offended by the subject, that doesn't give your friends the right to think your mother would be okay with it. That is just immature and, well, mean. Your friends should have more respect for you and your mom, along with your father. I'm sorry that they are like that :/
